Sony have posted an interview with Alien: Isolation developer The Creative Assembly on their PlayStation Blog, along with a behind-the-scenes video which you can see below. The video shows footage of the upcoming survival-horror game, while various members of the development team discuss their inspirations and goals for the title.
Alien: Isolation looks terrifying in a good way, as opposed to the recent Aliens: Colonial Marines which scary for all of the wrong reasons. In this game, the team is returning to the roots of the film franchise by taking inspiration from 1979’s original Alien film. Players won’t be filling the boots of trained marines. Instead they will be alone, unarmed and unprepared for the deadly situation that they have been thrown into.
With all of the recent news surrounding facebook’s purchase of Oculus VR and Sony’s reveal of a Virtual Reality prototype for PS4, my initial thought was just how terrifying this game would be with a VR headset. Can you imagine? Pants would be made wet.
Alien: Isolation will be released later this year for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. Stay tuned for more news and details.
