Today it has been revealed that the next game in the beloved Arkham series is Batman: Arkham Knight, which you can see in the cinematic announcement trailer above. Batman will face off against classic villains such as Scarecrow, The Penguin, Two-Face, and finally Harley Quinn—who developer Rocksteady is already promoting as a playable character with unique weapons and abilities for those that pre-order the game.
Batman: Arkham Knight will be set in a massive open-world Gotham City, with wider streets to accomodate a drivable Batmobile. Yes, you read that right. The Batmobile will make it’s debut as a core element of gameplay, and we certainly can’t wait to get behind the wheel.
Batman: Arkham Knight is coming this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Currently there has been no announcement of PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, which is surely a good indication that the developers won’t be holding anything back to suit older hardware. Although not confirmed by Rocksteady, Gamestop is listing the release date as October 14th. We will keep you updated with more information once we know an exact date.
