Little Mac Punches in to Smash Bros. Lineup

CEO Satoru Iwata has today announced during the Nintendo Direct live stream that Little Mac from the Punch-Out!! series will be the newest playable character to join the Super Smash Bros. lineup. To be honest, it’s quite surprising that Little Mac—a boxer by trade—hasn’t made his way into a Smash Bros. game until now. You would think he would be a prime candidate for some brawling action.

Nintendo introduced the new character with a brand new trailer that shows Little Mac engaging in an intense training montage, before stepping into the ring against various Super Smash Bros. veterans. He even K.O.’s Samus for bring attention to his short stature. Little Mac? More like ‘little man syndrome’. Nintendo didn’t specify a release date for Super Smash Bros. but we know that it will be coming to Wii U and 3DS later in the year.

It’s been a huge Nintendo news day with lots of new information, release dates and trailers for titles such as Mario Kart 8, Mario Golf World Tour and much more. Stay tuned for more Nintendo news from LootChaser.
