In some bad news for Xbox fans, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has taken to Twitter yesterday to confirm that Microsoft have no future plans to develop a dedicated Xbox handheld console to compete with Sony’s PS Vita and Nintendo’s 3DS.
@xrCore I don't think we'll do a dedicated handheld gaming device, rather just focus on WP, tablets, maybe with controller support someday.

Spencer explains that Microsoft will focus their attention on Windows Phone and Surface tablets, though he admits that controller support could come to those devices someday.
Rumors have been floating around online for many years regarding the possible existence of a handheld Xbox console, but this latest denial from the head of Microsoft’s Xbox division should put those rumors to bed at least for the time being.
