Did we miss you Bayonetta? Yes. Yes, we did.

In fact we miss Bayonetta so much that Bayonetta 2 is one of our most anticipated titles of 2014. I got a chance to play an early version of the game at IGN’s Black Beta Select Awards in Sydney last weekend, and I was impressed with it’s fluid combat, gorgeous visuals and wacky design. In other words, everything that made the original Bayonetta so great.

Nintendo has just released a new trailer for Bayonetta 2 at today’s Nintendo Direct live stream. The video, titled ‘Did You Miss Me?’ shows off part of the game’s story, as well as new combat features such as Bayonetta’s Umbran Climax move which she can charge to unleash a powerful attack.

Bayonetta 2 will be available this summer in Japan exclusively on Wii U. Nintendo did not give any indication of when the game would release in other regions, though it was previously revealed that it would release some time in 2014.

Stay tuned for more info on Bayonetta 2 and other Nintendo announcements from today’s live stream.
