A new Super Mario Bros. ‘low-score’ record has been set by YouTube user NotEntirelySure who has completed the game with the lowest possible score of 500 points in a warp-pipe assisted run.

Earning such a low score is much tougher than it sounds and requires completing the game without destroying any enemies or collecting coins and power-ups. It also means waiting until the last possible moment before touching the flagpole at the end of each level, as players are awarded points for completing stages quickly.

Well done to NotEntirelySure for accomplishing such a huge achievement of underachievement!
