Ubisoft have today confirmed the rumors that their upcoming action-adventure title Watch Dogs will be delayed on the Wii U.
Watch Dogs is still slated for release between April and June this year on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. Ubisoft have not announced an exact date for the Wii U version, simply stating that it has been pushed back to a later date.
Though understandable, it’s unfortunate to see publishers canceling or delaying important Wii U releases. This can result in a downward spiral in which players aren’t buying games for the Wii U, which in turn results in more publishers keeping away from the system. Hopefully Nintendo’s big upcoming first-party titles such as Mario Kart 8 and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, will be able to create some improved momentum for the system.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will be hitting stores in just over a week on February 21, with Mario Kart 8 due for release in May.
